Writing one’s own spells can be daunting for a fledgling witch. I hope this little bit will help out:
Intent is the most important part of any spell. Without intent, there is no direction for the magick and things kind of fizzle at best. Know exactly what your goal is when setting out writing a spell.
Next, think about spell aids. Herbs, crystals, candles, ect. Whatever you think you need to help make your spell successful. Make sure they correspond to your intentions. If you aren’t sure, trust your intuition and remember magick works differently for different people so if something feels wrong about a plant or crystal someone has suggested you use, skip it.
Apply the same thought process to the ink you use when writing anything you need written for the spell. Again, you can let your intuition guide you here. Use a color that you feel is appropriate.
Time to write your spell. You will notice a lot of spells are written in prose. It has its own rhythm adds to the power of the spell. It, however, is unnecessary. You don’t have to have it perfect right away. Once you have your thoughts and ideas down, you can toy with them until they are where you want them.
